A Houston man is under arrest, after getting caught last week, accused of trying to smuggle 4 Mexicans and 2 Ecuadorians in the country illegally.
David Joseph Canada was stopped on Ranch Road 334, which is one of the most commonly chosen routes for drivers attempting to avoid Border Patrol checkpoints.
Kinney County Sheriff’s Deputy Gonzalez made the stop.
Canada now faces 6 Counts of felony smuggling. That could mean as much as 12 to 60 years in prison.
